Interestingly, No Peace Without Justice (the organisation, not the motto) were the only voice in the international NGO world who blasted ICTY for their decision to investigate and charge Haradinaj. Their press release on his acquittal makes fun reading: "No Peace Without Justice, which investigated war crimes during the war in Kosovo, has always perceived the indictment of Haradinaj as a misguided attempt by the ICTY to prosecute all groups, Serbs, Croatian, Bosniacs, Kosovars "even-handedly", irrespective of the scale of the crimes committed, flying in the face of historical facts."

You must be joking…. I bet you would never date ex-prostitute?

Mladic and Karadzic were not rushing to turn themselves in but after this I can imagine them appearing in public places without any probs.

No peace without justice is the only option!

It is indeed a jungle… I would have preferred to see a more vigorous prosecution (and better witness protection), but there you go. I’m not sure it makes much difference to Mladic and Karadzic, though – it’s not as if they were rushing to turn themselves in.

Here’s the strange thing, though – as I noted, most of the charges related to abuses of Albanian rather than Serb civilians, and as the article notes “While the Serbian government vilified him as a terrorist, senior United Nations officials said he was instrumental in promoting reconciliation.”

I take both sides – Serbian and UN – with a pinch of salt, but what if Ramush is genuine about reconciliation? The old saw of “no peace without justice” still makes sense to me, but there’s always the question in the back of my mind.
